King of the Fishes - English for Thursday

Read, or listen to the story again, then answer the questions (you do not have to write them!)

Now have a go at the grammar activity (sorry for fuzziness!)

Say the sentences before you write them. This will help you make your sentences even better! Write them in your neatest writing, for handwriting practice.

Charlotte's Web pictures

What is similar and different about your illustrations: did you draw Fern, the box by the stove, the small yard outside, Fern feeding Wilbur, Wilbur hiding in the straw? Remember, everyone has their own ideas and imagines things their own way. This is a good thing!

For those of you who would like another science . art activity!

Village walk

This afternoon we became geographers and thought about the route to the church and river, and the landmarks along the way.

When we reached our destinations, we did some sketching and then collected words about what we could see and hear.

We enjoyed paddling in the river and reflecting on what we could see and hear.

The egg hatched!

Well we decided to leave the egg overnight, but ended up leaving it for three nights, over the weekend. When we returned on Monday, the egg had hatched!

We took photographs ...

 then collected the evidence ...

 and took it inside.

A most unusual find ...

After Mrs Burton visited Oak Class, asking whether Miss BB had been making prank phone calls again, the children decided to go out and about to investigate the unusual sighting that had been reported.

They were astonished to find something unusual in the nest area, with some large bones scattered around. What on earth was it and who had left it there?

There was also some unusual, fiery orange stuff on some of the logs.

A debate was started about what to do with the egg. Should it be left alone, or should it be brought in to the warm? There were lots of different opinions ...

so we had a decision alley...

...and decided to leave it overnight, then bring it in.
