Our first dig!

The newly-trained archaeologists went out on their first major dig today. There were some very unusual finds!

Trainee archaeologists

We got a very important call today, to go out on an archaeological dig where some Viking or Anglo-Saxon artifacts had been found. Before we were allowed on site, we had to pass our final exam. This involved showing that we were able to extract 'artifacts' carefully by excavating the rocks were were given... We know how careful and patient archaeologists need to be!

Fractions and decimals

This morning we used skittles to investigate fractions of quantities and equivalence, then we reduced them to tenths to work out decimal fractions. Some lovely learning from Oak mathematicians!
